There are many styles of yoga available to practice in today’s world. The differences are on emphasis such as meditation, body alignment, temperature, movement and props. It’s clearly a matter of personal preference and finding what will work for you.

  1. Ashtanga: Known as yoga of the mind. It is a series of 8 arms or steps where each step must be completed before moving on to the next step. In its pure form it is physically demanding and not for beginners.
  2. Iyengar: This method of yoga emphasizes body alignment with use of props. Practiced properly it can eliminate aches & pains and treat certain ailments.
  3. Viniyoga: Adaptations of other yoga methods that develop a practice to meet
  4. an individual’s needs.
