	Quick Review: One of the most kick-butt films ever. The best fight scenes since Gladiator and Braveheart. Revolutionary visual effects. Not a fantastic story but a good one. Great acting by beautiful men and women. Some genuinely funny comedic relief.

	"Go tell the Spartans, passerby. That here, by Spartan law, we lie." is the elegy written on the stone at battle site, Thermopylae.
	Occured in 480 B.C.
	There were 300 Spartans fighting against the massive Persian army - possibly 800,000 (some fictional accounts say millions).
	Leonidas was the King of Sparta and leader of the 300 men. He would die for his country or any of his men.
	Xerxez was the leader of the Persian army. He would kill his own country-men for victory.
	The battle-site, a narrow mountain pass, was only as wide as a chariot.
	The Spartan army knew they stood no chance, but wanted to give their country time to prepare for the advancing Persians.
	The victory proved to be costly for the Persians, giving the rest of the Greeks time to regroup and eventually win the war.
	Greece was split into city-states at this time, the most infamous two being Sparta and Athens.
	The movie is based on Frank Miller's graphic novel (who also did "Sin City").
