Wasted Talent: Cases of Good Actors Appearing in Horrible Horrible Movies
WORSTS
Tags: bad movies, good actors, bill murray, ben affleck, robert de niro
Ever see an actor in something that's absolutely a trainwreck, and couldn't have looked any better on paper and thought: Why? Why would you squander all the goodwill you've accumulated through (insert films here) by doing that? That's this list. Sometimes an actor does that so much you forget why you liked them in the first place, which is what has happened to a few people represented here. Feel free to point out any that I missed, these are just the worst cases I could think of.
| | Ben Affleck in pretty much everything after Good Will Hunting - After the dreck that was Pearl Harbour, Forces of Nature, Surviving Christmas, Reindeer Games, etc. it's pretty hard to remember that the guy did win an Oscar for writing, isn't it. |
| | Cuba Gooding Jr. in pretty much everything after Jerry Maguire - Snow Dogs, that stupid movie where he's in an ice cream truck with Skeet Ulrich, Boat Trip... what is wrong with this man? Doesn't he have an agent who tells him not to do these awful films. |
| | Robert De Niro in Rocky and Bullwinkle (and to a lesser extent, Meet the Parents) - While a lot of people like De Niro in comedies, mugging opposite Ben Stiller is a far cry from starring in a masterpiece like Taxi Driver. And don't even get me started on Rocky and Bullwinkle. |
| | Bill Murray in Garfield and Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties - This entry is particularly awful because these films were made just after he accumulated a lot of critical goodwill from Lost in Translation and his work with Wes Anderson. |
| | Jason Lee in Underdog and Alvin and the Chipmunks - Didn't he work with Kevin Smith? What could have possessed him to agree to participate in these two films? |
