Looking back through the history of Box Office opening weekends, there have been some unbelievably good opening weekends for terrible movies. Thank the hype.

1. Jan. 26-28, 2007 - #1 "Epic Movie" made $18 million and #5 "Catch and Release" $7 million
2. March 21-23, 2003 - Third straight week at #1 for "Bringin’ Down The House" which made $16 million
3. Feb. 9-11, 2007 - #1 "Norbit" makes $34 million
4. Sept. 14-16, 2001 - #1 "Hardball" made $9 million and #2 "The Glass House" $5 million
5. April 25-27, 1997 - #1 "Volcano" at $14 million
6. Jan. 27-29, 2006 - #1 "Big Momma's House 2" made $27 million and #2 "Nanny McPhee" $14 million
7. Feb. 24-26, 2006 - #1 "Tyler Perry's Madea’s Family Reunion" made $30 million
