If you need some helpful advice on something, anything, you might be able to find it here, under this list of different rules of thumb:

	SERVING WINE - Red wines should "breathe" two minutes for every year between the vintage and the present date.
	CURING HICCUPS - If you want to get rid of hiccups, drink water from the other side of the glass by bending down.
	TELL STARS FROM PLANETS WITH BINOCULARS - While looking at the night sky with your binoculars pick out any object and watch it closely while you rotate the large end of the binoculars in a small circle. If you see a solid circle of light, it's a planet. If you see a broken line circle, it's a star. It also works when looking at incandescent bulbs(solid line) and fluorescent bulbs(broken line).
	WHICH SIDE OF THE ANIMAL? - Get on a horse from the left side; milk a cow from the right side.
	WINNING AT BLACKJACK - When you're playing blackjack, assume that any unseen card is an 8.
	FORECASTING THE WEATHER WITH ANTS - When ants travel in a straight line, expect rain. When they scatter, expect fair weather.
	STARTING A MOTORBOAT - Don't pull the choke in a motor boat if the motor was running within the past 20 minutes.
	NAVIGATING THE OCEAN - Seagulls mean land ahead.
	BIG PURCHASES - Don't buy something unless you can pay for it in full in 3 months
