Natural Remedies for Dry Scalp
TIPS
Tags: dry scalp, natural remedies
A lot of commercial products for treating dry scalp contain chemicals and irritants that can actually worsen the problem. These are some natural remedies that may be more effective.
| | Brush hair regularly - increases blood flow to scalp and distributes natural oils. |
| | Shampoo no more than once a day - excessive washing dries out the scalp more and strips hair of its natural oils. |
| | Use cooler water when washing hair as hot water can actually dehydrate hair. |
| | A few drops of an essential oil, like Jojoba oil, can break up flakes during washing. |
| | Lime or lemon juice also breaks up accumulated flakes, reducing itching. |
| | Boiling thyme and pouring the water over hair (without rinsing it out the same day) is rumored to destroy flakes because of the antiseptic properties of thyme. |
| | Stress plays a big role in blood circulation, including to the scalp, so do what you can to keep calm! |
| | Diet plays a role in the production of oils in your hair, so have a good amount of healthy fatty acids to keep your scalp naturally hydrated. |
