| | Abundant wildlife (again, September/October -- elk bugling; elk, bighorn sheep, foxes, birds, other wildlife year-round). |
| | Numerous opportunities for hiking, camping, backpacking, bicycling (paved roads only), 4x4 driving, snow-shoeing (in season), fishing, wildlife observation, photography |
| | Clean air, park is popular but not as crowded/overrun as some of the other top national parks (especially if you park and get out on the trails; start early!) |
| | Plenty of places to eat, shop and relax in town (Estes Park, CO). Quaint, relaxing. |
| | Romantic getaway if you stay in the McGregor Mountain Lodge just outside the park. Highly recommended! Google it. |
| | Several campgrounds in the park and private campgrounds nearby. |
| | You can swim inexpensively at the Estes Park aquatic center; it's a good way to get a swim AND a cheap shower if you're camping. |
| | The big slide and bumper cars place is good old fashioned fun for kids. |
