How to get a base hit.
| | When entering the batters box be sure your arm length with the bat extends to the opposite end of the plate. |
| | Separate feet shoulder length apart, knees bent and most of your weight on your back foot. Your back foot should never move, but only pivot at the ball of your feet during the actual swing of the bat. |
| | Raise your elbows up parallel to your shoulders with the end of the bat parallel to your neck. |
| | When the pitch is thrown, keep your eye on the ball and making it a point to see the ball make contact with the bat. |
| | When the ball is within striking distance, your forward leg should be taken a step towards the pitcher while also shifting your hips towards the pitcher. Most power comes from the lower body; the legs, thighs & hips. |
| | Make sure the swing is level and hitting the ball directly in the center. An uneven swing will cause the ball to either fly up or go down. |
