Electrician. Sounds technical and complicated right? WRONG. There are some areas in which it gets technical, but for a plain old electrician at a job site, it's dull. It's boring. It isn't worth the pay.

2. time invested to education does not justify the top pay (non-union jobs)
3. you dig trenches for underground piping, by hand!
4. too many unsafe co-workers on drugs
5. when real estate is down, construction is down = lay off
6. work can get monotonous unless you are calling the shots
7. most companies give tasks according to age, not according to experience and brains
8. unless the company is large, benefits are few and not very good
9. favoritism- worse in construction than other types of work.
10. You work too hard for 10 years to make $20-25 an hour
