Ways to Keep your Plants Healthy

Some suggestions on having healthy houseplants
| | Make sure the amount of light is right for the plant. Most indoor plants prefer bright light, so a south window is probably good. |
| | Don't overwater. Too much water can cause root rot. Most plants only need to be watered when the soil has gone completely dry. |
| | Maintain humidity, especially in the winter, by keeping your plants together. You can also mist with a squirt bottle. |
| | Repot occasionally, making sure that the roots take up most of the pot. Potting in too much soil can lead to health problems for the plant. |
| | Use an appropriate amount of fertilizer. Read the instructions on the box and follow them. "Extra" fertilizer will not help the plant grow. |
| | Keep bugs away with neem oil or a gentle insecticide. Also, mist your plants frequently to help wash off the bugs. |
| | Keep pets away from your plants. Dogs and cats will often chew on leaves, and cats will sometimes use the soil as a litterbox. |
