Exercising Tips for Your Australian Cattle Dog
TIPS
Tags: Australian Cattle Dog, pets, dogs, health, issues, vet, exercise, healthy, tips, how to, ACD, Blue Heeler
Australian Cattle Dogs not only tolerate a high level of physical activity, they almost demand it. Like many other herding dog breeds, they have active and fertile minds that turn mischievous if not properly channeled. The Australian Cattle Dog does need a lot of exercise and will do well with a house that has a large fenced in yard. Australian Cattle Dogs are highly intelligent and can be very bossy. The dog is strong and muscular, yet compact and symmetrical, with the ability and willingness to carry out any task — no matter how enduring or hard. Here are some activities to keep your ACD healthy and active:
| | mental puzzles |
| | dog agility |
| | obedience competition |
| | retrieving a scented article |
| | putting away its toys or "picking up after itself" |
| | Frisbee catch |
| | herding toddlers/children |
| | hiking |
| | biking |
| | running |
| | toy retrieving |
