A yeast infection is a very unpleasant, and I mean very unpleasant condition that usually occurs in women.. It is said that about 3/4 of the women in the US have had a yeast infection at one time.
Here is how they get them
| 1. | * Antibiotics (the leading cause of vaginal yeast infections) |
| 2. | * Period (menstruation) |
| 3. | * Contraceptives (birth control pills and condoms – nonoxynol-9 or a latex allergy) |
| 4. | * Steroids (often found in antibiotics) |
| 5. | * Pregnancy/Hormonal changes |
| 6. | * Diabetes |
| 7. | * Clothing that is too tight, non-cotton, dirty (traps heat and moisture) |
| 8. | * Sexual transmission |
| 9. | * Weakened immune system (due to HIV or Lyme disease) |
| 10. | *People with weakened immune systems are also more susceptible to thrush, a yeast infection in the mouth with symptoms including white, creamy patches in the on the tongue, in the throat or mouth. |
| 11. | * Allergic reactions to chemicals such as dyes, perfumes and inks. |
