The Best Movie Adaptations of Books
BESTS
Tags: book to movie, adaptation
It's hard to make a book into a movie. Here's the ones that got it right.
| | Silence of the Lambs - Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins were perfection. |
| | Adaptation - Charlie Kaufman's reinterprets the whole idea of a movie adaptation with this one. Brilliant. |
| | Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - Gene Wilder will always be Willy Wonka. Forget the whole Tim Burton/Johnny Depp mess. |
| | To Kill a Mockingbird - Gregory Peck brings one of literature and film's greatest heroes to life. |
| | One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - The movie's even better than the book. |
| | Fight Club - Also better than the novel, in my opinion. |
| | A Clockwork Orange - Love it. The book and the movie. |
| | Harry Potter and the Prison of Azkaban- People complained about how this one wasn't as faithful to the book. A movie is not supposed to a be a literal adaptation. Alfonso Cuarón made a more cinematic work than Chris Columbus and the result is a better, more grown-up, intelligent film. |
