D'oh: Most Annoying Catch Phrases in TV History
IMHO
Tags: TV, catch phrases, television, annoying
Pop-culture has spawned some great catch phrases. Unfortunately, some have become too popular, making them annoyingly overused. Some are annoying from the get-go. Here are 5 super annoying catch phrases and what punishment you shall give when someone uses it in everyday speech.
| | "D'oh": The Simpsons- It's funny when Homer says it. Not as funny when your Uncle Marv is drunk and decides that"D'oh" is the funniest phrase in human history and starts every sentence with it. Punishment: reminding them that Homer has an IQ equivalent to a rabid possum; not something you should strive for. |
| | "No Soup for You!": Seinfeld- Again, one can argue that this is hilarious in context, I mean a soup Nazi? Funny stuff. But do want to be associated with a Nazi, even if it's only a soup Nazi? Probably not. Punishment: cleaning all of the soup pots in your house, with a toothbrush. |
| | "That's Hot": The Simple Life- Seriously, I think this one is self explanatory. No one should ever quote Paris Hilton. Punishment: Watching all five seasons of The Simple Life. |
| | "Danger Will Robertson!": Lost in Space- You are not a robot. I am not named Will Robertson. If I am in peril, I hope that someone would save me instead of quoting a classic TV show. Punishment: Being sent off to space with Robot B9. |
| | "How YOU doin'?": Friends- You are nowhere near as good looking as Joey from Friends. Also, it's very ineffective in picking up chicks. Punishment: Having to use that as your sole pickup line for at least a year. |
