Top 10 Most Nostalgic Songs From Peanuts Holiday Specials
IN THE PAST
Tags: peanuts, snoopy, vince guaraldi, linus, lucy, charlie brown, music, nostalgia
I, like many others, grew up watching Peanuts, and I think the cartoons have some of the most heart-wrenching, nostalgic, and recognizable music of any other cartoon, so here is my list of the top 10 most nostalgic songs from Peanuts holiday specials in no particular order.
| 1. | Linus & Lucy - essentially the Peanuts theme song, it opens It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown |
| 2. | The Great Pumpkin Waltz - heard in It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, when Linus is writing a letter to the Great Pumpkin |
| 3. | Charlie Brown Theme - possibly not recognizable by title, however I remember it so clearly from It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown when Charlie receives an invitation to the Halloween party and does a little happy dance |
| 4. | Thanksgiving Theme - the theme song to the special A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving |
| 5. | Little Birdy - also from A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, one of the few sung songs from a Peanuts cartoon, and a rather catchy one at that |
| 6. | Christmas Time Is Here - from A Charlie Brown Christmas, it opens the special and really sets the tone for show |
| 7. | Skating - a beautiful piece from A Charlie Brown Christmas, played during the scene where the Peanuts gang are catching snowflakes on their tongue |
| 8. | Christmas Is Coming - possibly one of the best remembered scenes from A Charlie Brown Christmas, this song is played when all the kids are dancing sort of robotically and without variation |
| 9. | Surfin' Snoopy - another song that's probably not recognizable by title, but it is played in A Charlie Brown Christmas when Snoopy is decorating his doghouse for the contest |
| 10. | Heartburn Waltz - this is the theme song to Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown |
