After taking a study-at-home class for interior design, I discovered some insider tricks of the trade that I would love to share!
| | Designers don't always make up their own colors schemes, they often make a complete color scheme starting with one piece of fabric. |
| | Find a multi-colored fabric that you love and make that the basis for your room design. |
| | Find coordinating fabrics in other prints and solids, taking the colors right from your original choice. |
| | Use these fabrics as the color scheme to do your room design. |
| | Choose other items such as paint color, furniture, window treatments, carpeting etc. by making sure everything matches the fabrics you chose. |
| | After the main items have been chosen, shop for matching accessories. |
| | Take your fabric samples along with you when you shop and that way you will be sure that everything in the room will coordinate. |
