As a teacher of children with special needs I use many different reading programs. These are the ones I have found give the best results.
| | Fundations- This program uses multisensory techniques to teach basic skills such as phonemic awareness, comprhension and letter recognition. |
| | Edmark- This program uses repitition of basic sight words to help children develop a sight word vocabulary. |
| | The Lindamood-Bell system -The Lindamood Phonemic Sequencing (LiPs) program stimulates phonemic awareness. Students become aware of how the mouth moves to make sounds. The Visualizing and Verbalizing develops concept imagery beginning with expressive language to imagined paragraphs. |
| | The Barton Reading and Spelling System -The system improves spelling as strongly as it does reading accuracy and fluency. |
| | The Wilson Reading Program-a 12 Step remedial reading and writing program for individuals with a language based learning disability. |
