Top Five Best Reasons to Move Out of California in 2009

Tags: california, budget, economy, taxes
If you live in California in 2009, then you know that the budget crisis is the worst it's ever been. Perhaps now more then ever is the time to consider leaving the golden state. Here are some reasons why.
| 1. | Other states have professional politians as governors, not entertainers (of course, I'd be careful before deciding to move to Minnesota.) |
| 2. | California has an insane ballot initiative system that allows people to vote to give themselves money that the state doesn't have. |
| 3. | There's a new statewide sales tax increase of 0.01. That may not sound like much, but that means the rate in Los Angeles will be close to 10% |
| 4. | Four words: Tripled Vehicle Registration Fees. |
| 5. | Earthquakes. Sure, other states have their natural disasters, but there's something uniquely terrifying about an earthquake that just makes you want to find someplace else to live. |
