List of things to keep in mind when speaking to people

My friends say I am good at making conversation. Some basic tips that seemed to haave worked in my case:
| | Maintain eye-contact. Yes, looking at the person behind them or the girl to your right doesnt help. Maintaining eye-contact gives more meaning to the conversation. |
| | Smile. This one definitely works. The person you are speaking to tends to smile back without knowing why and then walks away happy, once again clueless as to why they're happy. |
| | Ask questions. The moment you think an awkward silence may have began, ask the person a question. It could be mundane. Some of these questions lead to very interesting conversations. |
| | Make a joke. Alternative to asking questions, but this one requires a little skill. Joke doesnt mean "knock, knock". Just say something funny as a part of the conversation. |
| | End it well. This is very important. This is what the other person takes back. A simple "see ya" will suffice, just dont walk away. |
