The Nashville Early Childhood Parenting Examiner, Cathy Coil, has compiled an excellent list of 16 books about Thanksgiving to read to your young ones. I have listed five of them. For all of the books along with links about each one click on the SOURCE link below the list:
| | 1. A Turkey for Thanksgiving by Eve Bunting: a fun read with funny pictures helping tell the story. Will be read multiple times. |
| | 2. My First Thanksgiving by Tomie DePaola: a great introductory book of Thanksgiving traditions. Great for babies and toddlers too. |
| | 3. One Little, Two Little, Three Little Pilgrimsby B.G. Hennessy: a fun counting book that teaches about the Wampanaog, Pilgrims and the first Thanksgiving feast. |
| | 4. Run, Turkey, Run by Diane Mayr: a fun book about a turkey running from the farmer. Kids will love finding turkey and the ending is silly too. |
| | 5. Thanksgiving is Here! by Diane Goode: read about a family getting together for Thanksgiving and all the fun they have. |
