List of Olympians who have died during the Olympics

The death of Georgian luge sportsman,Nodar Kumaritashvili, was unexpected but Mr. Kumaritashvili is not the first Olympian to die during competitions. According to NowPublic.com, six Olympians died prior to the 2010 Olympic games (this list does not include those competitors and coaches from Israel that were killed by terrorists in 1972.
