Hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg (real name Calvin Broadus) is no stranger to courtrooms and jail cells. Here are some of his more publicized brushes with the law.

  •
  • 1990--Before Snoop Dogg made a name for himself in music, he was convicted of a felony narcotics possession charge. Authorities said he was trying to sell cocaine.
  •
  • 1993--The same year his solo album "Doggystyle" sold 5 million copies, Snoop Dogg was charged with having a gun at a traffic stop. He pleaded guilty in exchange for three years' probation, a $1,000 fine and a promise to make public service announcements that denounced violence.
  •
  • 1996--Snoop Dogg was acquitted of murder in the death of Phillip Woldermarian, an alleged street gang member who was shot from the vehicle that the rapper was traveling in. Snoop Dogg's bodyguard, McKinley Lee, was the one accused of shooting Woldermarian and was also acquitted of murder. Snoop Dogg was named as an accomplice.
  •
  • 1998--Snoop Dogg never hid his affinity for marijuana. Unfortunately for him, that has led to several possession charges through the years.
  •
  • 2006--In May, Snoop Dogg was banned from British Airways after he and five other men were charged with starting a brawl at Heathrow Airport in London, England. Seven police officers received minor injuries in the fracas, which reportedly started when members of Snoop Dogg's entourage were denied entry into the airline's first-class lounge.
  •
  • 2006--In September, airport authorities at John Wayne International Airport in Santa Ana, California confiscated a 21-inch collapsible baton that was located in Snoop Dogg's laptop case while he was passing a security checkpoint. He was charged with one felony count of knowingly possessing a deadly weapon.
  •
  • 2006--In October, Snoop was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and transportation of a controlled substance at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California.
  •
  • 2006--In November, after a performance on "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno," Snoop was busted with a gun, cocaine and marijuana leaving NBC studios.
