Ten New Slang Terms Added to Scrabble's Official List of Words (2011)

Here are just some of the 3,000 new words added to the Collins Official Scrabble Words book, compiled by staff in Glasgow:
| 1. | INNIT: Short for "isn't it?" as in "This is great, innit?". Also used to replace any negative tag question, as in: "You like this song, innit?" Scrabble score: 5 |
| 2. | DARKNET (n): The software and servers used to distribute music, videos and other copyrighted material illegally. Scrabble score: 12 |
| 3. | QIN (n): A Chinese zither, with strings stretched across a flat box. Scrabble score: 12 |
| 4. | WAGYU: From the Japanese, a breed of beef cattle. Scrabble score: 12 |
| 5. | THANG (n): Slang word for thing, as in "give me that thang". Scrabble score: 9 |
| 6. | GRRL (n): A woman with attitude. Riot Grrl was an feminist punk movement in the 1990s. Scrabble score: 5 |
| 7. | WEBZINE (noun): A magazine published on the internet. Scrabble score: 21 |
| 8. | BLOOK (n): An online book that is published via a blog (a kind of online diary) Scrabble score: 11 |
| 9. | BLINGY (adj): From the word bling, meaning flashy, ostentatious jewellery. Could be used to mean shiny or bright. Scrabble score: 12 |
| 10. | FIQH (n): An expansion of Islamic sharia law, based directly on the Koran and Sunnah. Scrabble score: 19 |
