Top 10 iOS 6 Features We Want for Our Apple iPhones, iPads and iPods

iOS 5 is great. And it brings us 200+ new features. But Apple still left out a few major updates that would really crush the competition from Android, Windows, and Blackberry software. Here are ten things we really hope come with iOS 6 (if not sooner in iOS 5.1 or 5.2). Can you think of any others?
| | Quick Settings - ability to quickly and easily turn WiFi, Bluetooth, Airplane Modes on and off |
| | Basic Display Settings - RGB, brightness, and contrast settings just like you had on your tube TV in 1996 |
| | Retina/Fingerprint Scanning - alphanumeric passwords are so 2000's, we need a new way to securely login, and who better to guide us down that yellow brick road than Apple and the Wonderful Wizard of Jobs |
| | 3D Display Support - should be able to watch 3D movies and play 3D games (i.e. Nintendo 3DS) |
| | Homescreen Orientation - the homescreen should respond to gyro orientation motions and display in landscape as well as portrait (just as apps already do) |
| | FaceTime Over 3G - for FaceTime to ever really take off as a true form of communcation (not just a toy to show off) we will have to be able to use it outside of our home and office (and Starbucks) |
| | Facebook Integration - just as Twitter has been fully integrated in iOS 5 |
| | Multiple Email Signatures - different email sigs for different email accounts |
| | Multiple Keyboard Options - as a long time iPhone owner, I am used to the touchscreen keyboard standard across all iOS devices, but for many people making the switch from Blackberry and Android it is a difficult thing to get used to - offering a more robust set of keyboard options (i.e. T9, Swype, etc) Apple will cast an even wider iPhone adoption net |
| | Flash - put down the big guns and wave the white flag, please just let us visit Flash websites in Safari, most websites have made the change by now and you already have apps (i.e. Skyfire) that allow this in your AppStore |
| | New GPS - there are a handful of decent-to-good GPS apps in the AppStore, but Apple needs to update the native Google Maps app and put their own special Apple touch on GPS |
| | AirPlay Mirroring for iPhone - one of the coolest features in iOS 5 is AirPlay mirroring to AppleTVs for the iPad, why not allow it for the iPhone as well? |
| | Hide/Delete Native Apps - allow users who have zero interest in Wall Street to delete the Stocks app |
| | Swipe Forward/Back in Photo Slideshow - need the ability to swipe forward and back to control photo slideshows/screensavers to see previous pictures |
| | Maps with Weather - it only makes sense that you could view the navigational satellite maps app and see a radar with clouds and precipitation at the same time |
