Reasons to buy a Used Truck rather than a new one

In the current financial climate, a lot of us are having to tighten our purse-strings. In business, trucks are an essential item and this is often reflected in the steep price tag! With a used truck found with the right dealer, it's possible to fulfil all your trucking needs at the fraction of the cost of a brand-new vehicle, as well as many other benefits.
| 1. | As mentioned, you WILL save money on the direct costs. A new truck is sure to set you back £25,000 (or $41000) minimum; used trucks can get about as cheap as you want them to (within reason, of course!) |
| 2. | You'll also save money on the other financial obligations which come with owning a truck. Brand-new vehicles are likely to cost much more in insurance and fuel than their older counterparts. |
| 3. | Another way of saving money! If you're buying a new vehicle, it's likely you'll be purchasing on credit or in installments. This will ultimately cost you much more than a one-off or smaller payments for a much cheaper used truck, particularly if your credit rating isn't great. |
| 4. | More choice, with less shopping around. If you source a good independent purveyor of truck sales, they'll carry multiple manufacturers and models so you can physically compare more potential candidates against one another. Also, there may be models more suited to your purpose which may have stopped in production- these are available in the used truck market! |
| 5. | Long life- you don't need to worry about buying a used truck with a lot of miles on the pedometer. The average semi-articulated (semi-trailer in US) truck has a lifespan of several million miles with only normal maintenance. | 6. | Cost depreciation. The value of some models of brand-new trucks have been known to HALF in a year after purchase. If you're intending to sell on in the future, a used truck with a far lesser cost depreciation potential is a must. |
