Charades and Board Games - How to Make a Power Outage Bearable
TIPS
Tags: Power Outage, Prepare for Disaster
You never thought you could live with out television or the internet but now theres a power outage and you are forced to face the grim reality. Here is how you can survive a power outage.
| 1. | Prepare your house for possible power outages. Be sure you have candles, flashlights, food, water, and any other necessities you might need such as a spare laptop battery. |
| 2. | Remember to take the weather into account. If you live in a cold area be sure that you have lots of blankets to keep you warm and if you live in the heat be sure you will be able to ventilate your house properly by opening doors and windows. |
| 3. | When a power outage occurs you may not be sure what you can do to fill your days. Well, of course you should go where the power is. Go to the movies, wonder around the mall, and check out the arcade. This can be a great opportunity for some family activities. |
| 4. | Ahh, no technology, now what? Board games are a great way to pass the time, just be sure they are ones that you will be able to play in low lighting. Also use your imagination, make up songs, create new fun games. Power outages aren't that bad! |
| 5. | Before the invention of television and radio many people turned to books. You can take this time to read all those books you've been meaning to get around to. Just remember that this should probably be a daytime activity because your mother told you not to strain your eyes. |
| 6. | Personally, I'm afraid of the dark. So, during an outage I always remember to take a bath during the daytime. Nothing is more horrifying than taking a bath in the dark, think What Lies Beneath. |
| 7. | Propane is a clean burning, efficient gas. It also does not need electricity to run. Make Hank Hill happy and use propane or a camp stove to boil water to make your food. |
