Natural disasters and burglaries can come with out warning. After the initial shock of the event the next step is to contact the insurance company. Here is how you can file a claim:

1. Say Cheese! Take pictures of all the rooms in your home preferably before a disaster takes place. This way you can have documentation of all of your possessions.
2. Look through the photos and list all of the items in the photos along with the amount. Now is when keeping those old receipts really comes in handy.
3. Submit this information to your insurance company with the correct form attached.
4. Move on with your life and be thankful you have insurance :-)
