Pest Control Tips: Rodents
HOW TO

These are some simple pest control tips to keep your home free of mice, rats, and other rodents.
| | You can kill mice with a mixture of flour and cement. Mix the flour and cement powder together in a dish. Leave it on the ground next to a small dish of water. (Make sure the lips of the dishes dont' stand too high off the ground; you want it to be easy for the mice to get to what you put out.) Mice eat the flour/cement mixture, and then they drink the water. The cement hardens inside their stomachs, and they die. |
| | Using peppermint oil around the home will drive mice away. They don't like it, but it's minty-fresh for you! |
| | To control mice and rats put out a small saucer of coke, pepsi, etc. Mice cannot burb and they die as a result of drinking anything that is carbinated. |
| | Use fabric softener sheets in stored items to deter mice from nesting. |
| | A dab of peanut butter inside a greased bowl with a block of wood running up to it like a ramp. The mice run up the ramp and into the bowl to get the peanut butter and then can't scrabble out again. |
| | Raw bacon or peanut butter makes good bait for a mousetrap. |
| | Steel wool in cracks and crevices keeps out mice |
| | Peanut butter in the mouse traps rather than cheese |
| | Hide mothballs around the house. |
| | Put a wooden dowel with peanut butter on it over a bucket of water with a ramp leading up to it. They will fall in and drown. |
