How to Fix a Sticky Lock
HOW TO
Tags: Locks, Sticking Locks, Lock Repair, Lock Problems
A sticky lock is a common household problem that can be quite the annoyance. Here is a way for you to fix this little problem:
| | Go to the hardware or automotive section of any department store or hardware store and buy a tube of powdered graphite. |
| | Go home and cut the tip off of the tube of the graphite. |
| | Insert the tip of the tube of graphite into the key slot of the lock and squeeze the tube one or two times. |
| | Put your key into the lock and slide it in and out a time or two. |
| | Keep the graphite on hand in a dry place and you can have it handy the next time you have this type of problem. |
| | Be careful with the graphite until it is closed! It will "poof" out on you and get you all black and may stain. |
