How to Paint an Ice Rink
HOW TO
Tags: Painting, Ice Rink, Ice Hockey, Ice Skating
When preparing for your next ice hockey game knowing how to paint the rink is essential!
| | Get the paint, or you can get vinyl markings to replace the paint and lay them down as lines, however you will still need a white paint for the floor, alternatively if you have a sand base rink you will need to first freeze the ice, than add a thin layer of water than add your ice paint. |
| | Get tools and diagrams that you need to know the measurements and to make the lines straight. |
| | After a few layers of ice are laid down with a sprinkler type sprayer/mister, paint the ice white. (DO NOT USE A ZAMBONI) This will take several coats with the sprayer, hot water freezes the fastest but cold water will work if it's all you have. |
| | After the ice is painted white, put on more ice before you apply your paint/vinyl markings. If you paint both together on the same level they may leak into each other. |
| | Use the sprayer/myster to add water to the ice until it is of a suffecient level to bring out your zamboni. |
