Canine Distemper is a serious and often fatal disease. It attacks the nervous system and can strike any unvaccinated dog at any age. Your dog should be vaccinated for this disease as a puppy, but if not, here are some symptoms for Canine Distemper you should look for:

| | A high fever will be the first symptom |
| | Reddened eyes and a thick, watery discharge from the nose |
| | The dog will become sluggish |
| | Loss of appetite, causing a drastic weight loss |
| | Persistent cough |
| | Acute vomiting and diarrhea |
| | Distinct thickening of the foot pads |
| | Teeth turn brown and show pits |
| | Signs of neurological damage- fits and nervous tics |
| | Cannot be cured, but easily prevented through vaccination |
