It's about more than just beauty: grooming your dog keeps it comfortable and disease-free. Here are some tips for grooming your dog. Have any other tips?
| | Brush your dog's coat on a regular basis to remove dirt and pests, and untangle knots. |
| | Brush everywhere, including stomach, behind the legs and the ears. |
| | Keep your dog's nails trimmed. You can use scissors or dog-specific nail trimmers might work better. |
| | Bathe your dog, but not too often. The average dog only needs to be bathed 4 times a year. |
| | Use shampoo made for dogs, and stick cotton balls in the ears. |

Good point about the cotton balls--a dog with an ear infection is a sad thing. Also, if you've never trimmed a pet's nails before, get someone to show you how to do it without accidentally clipping a nerve. Comment by: relsqui I agree with what some of the things you said but not about giving them a bath 4 times a year i guess i disagree cause my dog stays inside... Comment by: bubba4201 Dogs really only need a bath four times a year? If that's true I never knew that. Very interesting. These are great tips- all dog owners should do their best to keep their dog happy and healthy! Comment by: jettyheartsyou
