| | Cats are often given aristocratic names for their haughty behavior: just make sure that you can shorten the name to something that you like |
| | Name it something you will be comfortable calling it for the many years it will be a part of your life |
| | Take your time: take a few days to observe your cat's behavior and let that inspire you |
| | Think of famous cats to name your cat after, ie Garfield is the name of a comic cartoon kitty |

Good suggestions! I would recommend going longer than a few days though, as the cat (being a cat) is going to ignore you most of the time anyway and will not be offended with being called "Kitty" for a little while. So take your time (weeks?) to get a feel for your new task-master!
