WebMD magazine recently offered some helpful tips for minimizing your chances of picking up a bad bug. Some of what they found might be helpful for any of us who tend to catch the common cold:
| 1. | Don't Touch the First Floor Elevator Button! In an elevator, the first-floor button harbors the most germs. |
| 2. | Dangerous Shopping Cart Handles - they are prime culprits in the spread of germs. |
| 3. | Watch Those Escalator Handrails - they are also loaded with germs. |
| 4. | Use the First Toilet - because research shows most people use the middle stall in public. |
| 5. | The Office Coffee Pot Drips With Disease - and don't forget to hang on to your own mug |
| 6. | Kitchen Woes - pretty much anything that touches food you prepare or cleans plates is loaded with germs - wash it all down. Biggest cluprit? That sponge.... |
| 7. | Your Desk Is Dirtier Than the Toilet - they typical office desk area has 400 times the amount of bacteria than the average toilet seat. Want to clean it? Start with your phone. |
| 8. | Avoid Hand Shaking & Kissing - well, at least make sure you wash your hands and practice good oral hygene if you are have to do lots of it. |
