Make 'em weep! These are 10 shopping tricks that stores hate for you, the shopper, to take advantage of when buying at their store.
| 1. | Buying loss leaders and leaving. Loss leaders are products that a company sells below or at cost to lure customers into the store. |
| 2. | Signing up and using credit cards but paying it off on time. |
| 3. | Just Say No! Saying no to the extended warranty. |
| 4. | Activating your own phone with a cell phone company. You can buy a used phone, or an unlocked phone, for full price and avoid signing a contract. |
| 5. | Shopping around and looking at things in the store but then buying online for cheaper prices. |
| 6. | Buying 1 when its 2 for $.: When it says "2 for" you can still get 1 or 3 or 11 for the unit price. |
| 7. | Opening a store credit card account to get a discount but then paying it off and cutting it up. |
| 8. | Using websites to track 30 day price guarantees. There are websites that will watch your purchase for you and email if it drops in price during the guarantee period. |
| 9. | Buying seasonal items at clearance prices for next year (i.e. buy snow skiis in May). |
| 10. | Buy "accessories" on Ebay rather than paying huge markups. You can buy HDMI cables for pracitically 50% off. |
