HOW TO
Tags: Video Card, Monitor Problems, Computer problems
A spot or line across your screen can be a variety of problems. It could be a software problem, a video card problem, or a monitor problem. Here is how you can determine what the problem is so you can fix it.
| 1. | Launch a photo editor and create a new file with the same resolution as your screen |
| 2. | Minimize all windows so only your desktop and specifically the problem area is clear |
| 3. | Go back into your photo editing program and highlight or select the window that holds your empty image file and paste the clipboard contents into it using Edit/Paste or other appropriate command your program has. |
| 4. | If you see the problem in your posted image than the problem is with your video card or software driver |
| 5. | If you do not see the problem than your monitor or hardware is the problem. |
