  • On July 10, 1913 in Death Valley, California a temperature of 134 °F (!) was recorded.

  • In Rapid City, South Dakota on January 22, 1943 the recorded temperature rose 49 °F in 2 minutes.

  • At the LaGuardia Airport in New York, a temperature of 47 °F was recorded... during a snowfall!

  • On January 20, 1954 in Rogers Pass, Montana, a temperature of −70 °F was recorded.
