| 1. | The most important thing to remember is that YOU are the business. Although real estate agents work for a broker they are independent contractors. You need to keep in mind that you are a small business and run things accordingly. |
| 2. | Have a game plan. You need to make sure you always have a plan for what you are going to do and how you are going to accomplish it. Otherwise, you will likely accomplish nothing. |
| 3. | Research your Market Plan. Since you, as the real estate agent, are responsible for your own expenses, do your research specific to your marketing plan within your strategic plan. Time spent in constructing your marketing plan is definitely well spent. |
| 4. | Goals are key - Establish sales goals and work hard to accomplish them. |
| 5. | Budget time - Create a financial budget, your financial budget should plan for your marketing costs, any additional costs such as education and your forecasted income. |
| 6. | You are your boss - So you need to remember to make managing yourself a priority. Time management is a key to success you must make time to do your job effectively, gain further education in your field, and still have a personal life. |
| 7. | Mentoring - Find a mentor or couch. You can often learn a lot from someone who has been doing Real Estate for a long time. Learn from their successes and their failures and implement them into your own career. |
