Best and Worst Wireless Carriers (Consumer Reports)

In September 2006, Consumer Reports did a nationwide survey of 43,000 readers in order to determine which wireless carriers had the best overall performance. Here's a rundown of the best and worst major wireless carriers.

1.	Verizon Wireless - Top performer in this survey and some earlier surveys. Also ranked high for responding to customer queries.
2.	Alltell - Top performer and is notable for its connectivity and customer service.
3.	T-Mobile - Good performer but had a lack of service in some areas. However, it is also notable for its ability to respond to customer queries.
4.	Cingular - Had middle to low levels of consumer satisfaction, there were general problems with static and busy circuits and it got low ratings for its responsiveness and to customer queries.
5.	Sprint - Had one of the lowest ratings for overall consumer satisfaction and dropped more calls than any of the other carriers.
