How to Iron a Shirt
HOW TO
Tags: iron, shirts, clothing, wrinkles
Don't know how to get the wrinkles out of that shirt or screw up every time you try? Here are the basics to good shirt ironing.
| | Begin with the inside and outside of the collar. Start with the tips and work your way to the back. |
| | Do the cuffs well. They are highly visible when worn. |
| | Slide the shoulder onto the end of the ironing board. |
| | Sleeves: Start at the cuff opening and move to the top. |
| | The body: Start at the top and go down. The back is low priority--it will wrinkle. |
| | Moisten your clothes first: Dry wrikles are set wrinkles. Use a spray bottle or sponge. |
| | Upgrade to a nice iron. Cheap irons leak. |
| | Put foil under the cover of the ironing board. Speeds up the process by deflecting heat upward. |
| | Line up your pants crease or shirt sleeves on the boatds edge to reduce the chance of a crooked crease. |
| | Homemade starch: 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 2 cups of water in a spray bottle. |
| | Ignore the phone. Distractions lead to burns. |
