| | Bonobo Chimpanzees Just had a fight? Time for sex. Found some food? Time for sex. Bonobos use intimate contact to smooth all potential conflicts. Female on female, male on male, female on male, orgies...It's all good if you're a bonobo! |
| | Humans We practice social monogamy — commitment with some cheating. In a study of 185 cultures, anthropologists found that nearly 4 in 10 societies approve of having sex with someone other than your spouse. Statistics on adultery are notoriously slippery, but here in the U.S. it seems that at least 15 percent of married people cheat. |
