If Presidential Candidates Were NFL Teams
ENTERTAINING
Tags: Election, 2008, NFL, Teams, Barak, Obama, Ron, Paul, Hillary, Clinton
With the 2008 election heating up, let's analyze the candidates in a sports vernacular. What NFL teams would your favorite presidential candidates be? Is Hillary the Colts or the Patriots? Is Barak a Saint or a Falcon? Here is a list of the presidential candidates and what NFL teams they would be.
| | Hillary Clinton ( New England Patriots)- The Patriots are used to being in the Super Bowl and have quite possibly the greatest coach and football mind ever in Bill Belichick. Hillary Clinton is used to being in the White House, having been first lady for 8 years. And who in politics isn't more like Bill Belichick then the greatest politician of our generation Bill Clinton? The Patriots are also the favorites to win the Super Bowl in 2008 just like Hillary is the favorite in the polls to win the White House in 2008. | | | Barak Obama (New Orleans Saints)- The Saints have one of the fastest rising stars in the NFL in Reggie Bush and proved they weren't a flash in the pan last year with their strong performance in the playoffs. Bush is often compared to a young Gale Sayers, one of the greatest running backs of all time. Barak is one of the fastest rising stars in the political world and is often compared to one of the greatest public servants in history, Bobby Kennedy. Barak proved in his recent fundraising results that he is a legitimate and favored pick to win the presidency in 2008. A Saints Super Bowl and Barak Presidency in 2008? | | | Mitt Romney (Indianapolis Colts)- The Colts and Peyton Manning finally got over the hump last year, winning the Super Bowl and silencing the critics. We all know Manning looks the part of an NFL Quarterback, with his noted pedigree in father Archie and Brother Elie. Of all the Presidential candidates in 2008, it's Romney who looks the most Presidential and has the right political pedigree in father George who was Governor of Michigan. The Colts big question last year was whether or not a weak defense would keep them from winning the Super Bowl. The big question facing the Romney campaign is whether or not his Mormanism will keep voters from electing him the next President. | | | Rudy Giuliani (Chicago Bears)- The Bears made it to the Super Bowl last year based largely on their intimidating and ferocious defense. The Bears are a mirror image of their city, tough, strong and hard-working. Giuliani is one of the front-runners in the Presidential race because of his performance on 9-11 and his strong stance on Terrorism. Guiliani embodies the spirit and people of New York City in everything he does. | | | John Edwards (Atlanta Falcons)- All flash and no substance? On paper Michael Vick has all the tools and skills to be one of the greatest NFL Quarterbacks of all time. John Edwards is often compared to a poor man's Bill Clinton. On paper, Edwards should be the front runner in the Democratic Race, but he can never seem to capture his true potential. Vick's integrity has been called into question with his link to the ugly practice of dog fighting. Edward's integrity and ethical framework has been questioned due to his former profession, a trial lawyer. Can both find their true potential in 2008? | | | Bill Richardson (Denver Broncos)- The Broncos are one of the most successful NFL teams in the last 10 years, with two Super Bowl wins and a winning percentage that is unrivaled. Richardson is one of the most successful and popular governors in America. A former ambassador to the U.N and Secretary of Energy, Richardson has the experience to convince voters that he is ready for the Presidency. | | | John McCain (Pittsburgh Steelers)- Is there a team that has fallen apart faster than the Pittsburgh Steelers? The Steelers won the Super Bowl in 2006 and shortly there after lost their coach and all-pro running back. McCain was the favorite last year to get the Republican nomination, but since then has lost his campaign manager and adviser and is slowly dipping lower in the polls. | | | Ron Paul (San Francisco 49ers)- The 49ers showed a lot of promise last year and are trying to get the team back to the glory days of the 80's and early 90's. The niners had a great performance in the NFL draft, and many experts pick them to be the "sleeper team" in 2008. Paul has had great performances in the Republican debates and wants to get the Republican party back to it's conventional roots. After a surge in fundrasing due to his popularity on the internet and among independents, many political experts pick Ron Paul as the sleeper candidate in the Republican primary. | | | Dennis Kucinich (Cleveland Browns)- Who is a bigger joke in the NFL right now than the Cleveland Browns? The Browns have had some of the worst records and draft picks in recent years despite representing one of the most passionate and historic places (Ohio) in the NFL. In one of the strongest divisions in the NFL, the Browns are a weak link. Kucinich represents one of the most important states in the electorial college, but is just a big a joke as the Cleveland Browns. In what has to be the toughest crop of Democratic candidates in years, Kucinich is the weak link. | | | Fred Thompson (Dallas Cowboys)- If the Cowboys can pull everything together in 2008 they will be the front-runner to win the NFC. The cowboys are known for the flashy personalities like Micheal Irvin, Deon Sanders, Terrel Owens and Bill Parcells. The Cowboy cheerleaders are the most beautiful women in the NFL. If Thompson decides to enter the Presidential race he will immediately become the front-runner to win the Republican nomination. Thompson is known for being a movie and television star and has hands down the hottest wife in the history of Presidential candidates. | | | Al Gore (Green Bay Packers)- If there's one person who needs to hang it up and give up on their dream of winning another Super Bowl it's Brett Favre. Favre's legacy is already cemented and he can do much better work off the field as a coach or NFL anaylist. Al Gore.....enough said. |
