Eating Food Slowly Helps You Lose Weight
INFORMATIVE
Tags: food, healthy, eat, slowly, weight, loss
There are just a few of the benefits of eating food more slowly. Can you add some of your own?
| | Lose weight. It takes 20 minutes for your brain to know you are full. If you can get your meal to last at least that long then you won't eat more than your body needs. How much less will you eat? Studies say you could lose up to 20 pounds a year. |
| | Enjoy your food. What good is eating something sinful if you eat it so fast you don't enjoy it? |
| | Less stress. Anything you rush through produces stress, including eating. |
| | Save money. How much extra do you pay for all those steak and salad and potato meals you buy but never finish? Eating slower means eating less, which means ordering less, which means saving money. |
| | Healthier choices. Fast eating = fast foods. Slow eating = slow foods. If you can get it at a drive through window it is probably neither slow nor good for you. (And yes, that includes the fast food "salad" with the bacon bits and eggs and dressing with 20 grams of fat.) |
