Worst Athlete Role Models
WORSTS
Tags: Micheal, Vick, Athlete, Chris, Benoit, Sports, Role, Models
Who can your children look up to these days when their favorite NFL Quarterback is accused of running a dog fighting ring and their favorite professional wrestler is a murderer? Here is a list of the worst athlete role models.
| 1. | Michael Vick NFL QB Atlanta Falcons: What parent wouldn't want their kids flipping off their little league fans in the stands or finding ways to hide their illegal drugs in water bottles to pass airport inspection? The latest charges against Vick are the most disturbing and will forever tarnish his legacy and possibly ruin his career. Young kids will not be happy to learn what Vick is alleged to have done to innocent dogs. |
| 2. | Chris Benoit WWE former wrester: Many young kids idolize wrestling superstars because they are larger than life characters. And many of those young kids can't comprehend the difference between the character and the person in real life. This line of reality and fiction was shattered when Chris Benoit murdered his wife and son. |
| 3. | Barry Bonds MLB OF San Francisco Giants: Bonds represents a do as you want drug culture that is apparent in high schools around the country that have had to deal with steroid issues among it's athletes. Bonds represents everything that is wrong in sports, he is selfish and doesn't care who he runs over to get what he wants. |
| 4. | Kobe Bryant NBA G Los Angeles Lakers: Besides the incident in Colorado that hurt his reputation, Bryant only cares about one person, Kobe Bryant. Bryant has thrown his coach under the bus(Phil Jackson) and his teammates(Andrew Bynum) demanding a trade so he can appease his ego. |
| 5. | John Daly Golfer: This guy is a train wreck pure and simple who would be a weekly guest on Maury Povich if he wasn't a gifted golfer. If it' not his gambling or alcohol addiction that should have parents worried, it's his relationship with women. Daly has shown up on the golf course with claw marks on his face from a previous fight with his wife. Not only that his singing will discourage any young child from pursuing a career in music.
|
| 6. | The Cincinnati Bengals NFL: This team could double as extras on Prison Break. Teaching your children that a real life movie of The Longest Yard is possible. |
| 7. | Elijah Dukes MLB OF Tampa Bay Devil Rays: How's this for a record you can be proud of. Since 1998 Duke has been arrested 6 times for assault, resisting and officer and possession of marijuana. Duke also allegedly threw a bottle of gatorade at a 17 year old girl who he allegedly impregnated. A class act. |

I have issues with athletes being role models in general... find people in other fields to admire Comment by: Pratt I agree with Pratt; athletes are generally irresponsible and should only be admired for their athletic skills. Comment by: buccicone.2 Michael Vick should be kicked out of the league! Comment by: The Beltz Man When you say little kids idolizing Chris Benoit not knowing the difference do you also mean 24 years who still idoize wrestling as well? Comment by: Beltzmanisaweiner
