Boy Bands: Where Are They Now?
PEOPLE
Tags: nsync, boy band, backstreet boys, justin timberlake, pop music, bubblegum
The Backstreet Boys and 'N Sync dominated the popular music scene for much of the late nineties and early 2K's... but where are they now? ListAfterList investigates the whereabouts of these fallen pop stars.
| | Kevin Richardson- The Backstreet Boys are releasing a new album this October, but Kevin is the only member not to return to the lineup. Since his departure from BSB, he has done some Broadway work, including the role of Billy Flynn in "Chicago!". He's married and has one child. |
| | Nick Carter- After a shoddy solo career, an ill-fated romance with Paris Hilton, and an MTV reality show about his trashy family, this sleazy dude is probably psyched to be going back to BSB, his only real claim to fame. |
| | Brian Littrel- He has a relatively successful career on the Christian music scene, and a wife. It's refreshing to see a former pop star so... normal. |
| | A.J. McLean- The "bad boy"! He rehabbed it in 2001 for alcohol and cocaine abuse in 2001 and came out clean. Since then, he's kept a relatively low profile when he's not working with the Backstreet Boys. |
| | Howie Dorough- Don't be surprised if you say, "huh?" The forgotten Backstreet Boy mostly handles the two-part harmony, supporting one of the other more recognizable members. He's sung lead on about 3 songs over the course of 5 albums (that's a self approximation). Where is he now? We just don't know... or care. |
| | Justin Timberlake- Where IS this guy now? We never hear anything about him... except that he's one of the must successful (and respected) musicians in the world. |
| | Lance Bass- Where is he now? Being gay. Lance came out of the closet in 2006 on the cover of People Magazine. He's penning an autobiography (aptly titled "Out of Sync") which chronicles the rise and fall of N'Sync from Lance's point of view, including his struggles as a closeted homosexual. Oh, and then there was his well-publicized stint as a wannabe astronaut. |
| | Joey Fatone- In addition to his small role in 2002's "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", Joey hit up the reality TV circuit: In 2007, he placed second on "Dancing With The Stars" and became the host of the new game show "The Singing Bee". He's married and has one child. |
| | Jc Chasez- Worst solo career ever! "Blowin Me Up" had a few people tapping their toes, but perhaps you've forgotten the garishly oversexed "Some Girls Dance With Women" and "All Day I Dream About Sex". His only other non-N Sync claims to fame are his romances with Tara Reid and Eva Longoria. Ironically, JC has been rumored to be homosexual, although it cannot be confirmed. |
| | Chris Kirkpatrick- Since the downfall of 'N Sync, Chris has been gaining weight and hanging with porn stars. He was supposed to be "the nice one"! He is currently on the VH1 reality show "Man Band", in which he and three other former boy band-ers try to hit it big. We're watching! |
