Good Eats & Drinks in Shreveport/Bossier, La
BESTS
Tags: restaurant, food, drink, louisiana
Places to get good food and/or drinks in these towns. All the places listed are in Shreveport except Good Eats Deli and Notini's.
| | Noble Savage Tavern - Great food, but not really an "entree oriented" place. Sandwiches and pizza are awesome (wild boar sausage, etc.), but what's really impressive is the wall full of Single-Malt Scotches to choose from. Single-Malts alone take up at least three pages in the menu. I've never had a bad glass of wine there and the beer taps always have interesting choices. |
| | The Blind Tiger - If you want good cajun food, go here. The gumbo rocks and the spicy dishes are actually spicy. They also make their own bloody mary mix from scratch -- best bloody marys in the area! Try the "Absolut Fire" if you like them spicy. There's even a Jager machine for those of you who like cough syrup. . . |
| | Copelands - Good New Orleans style food (I've only tried seafood dishes). This place usually has a good bartender. Sit at the bar, order the crawfish cornbread and the spinach dip, and chase it all down with a bottle of wine. Beware: the scotch is a little pricey. |
| | Superior Bar & Grill: If you want a good chunk of red meat or some quail go here. They make great steaks and are also known for the potency of their margaritas (they add 190 to them). If you're hungry and want to eat something that bleeds while you get trashed on relatively cheap margaritas, this is your place. The decor is a little odd and all the giant animal heads might freak you out after a while; it's noisy, too. |
| | Nicky's - Go to the one in Bossier. This is the best mexican food in the area. Shrimp fajitas. . . yum! Drinks are cheap, food is good, but service can get a little slow. |
| | On The Border - Hey, I know it's a chain, but their salsa kicks ass and I love the Ranchiladas! |
| | Pie Works - Gourmet pizza place. The alcohol is overpriced, but the pizzas are really, really, good. . . |
| | Notini's - Italian restaurant. I have no idea if most of their food is any good or not. Every time I go there it's to pick up a whole Muffaletta to go -- they make the best Muff. A half of one of those things should fill up anyone. Food is reasonably priced and they have an all you can eat spaghetti night. The only alcohol available is a very limited selection of beer. |
| | Good Eats Deli - A great little deli with lots of yummy foods. Everyone should be able to find something they like. I don't think they serve alcohol, but they have some really good Iced tea. |
