| | - The town is a sleepy little place that's very quaint and welcoming |
| | - On a rainy day you're only a short drive from other interesting places (e.g. Snow Hill MD, Crisfield MD, Smith Island, Tangier Island) |
| | Vacationing there is very reasonably priced |
| | There are lots of good places to eat ranging from very informal to pretty nice |
| | Chincoteague has lots of cool little shops |
| | Seeing the horses. If you don't see them on your own, take a tour. |
| | Eating seafood. Chincoteague is still a working fishing town. The oyster stew is the best. |
| | Going to the Fireman's Carnival (weekends during the summer). |
| | If you're an engineer or just generally nerdy, you have to stop at the NASA Faculty on Wallops Island. They have a great Visitor’s Center, if you like rockets and things. |
