| 2. | The history - get up early and hit the NPS for their free tour - it's excellent an informative |
| 3. | The cultural history - Cross over to Algiers on the ferry and see Blaine Kern's Mardi Gras museum, as well as the two museums in Jackson Square |
| 4. | The music - this is the birthplace of jazz - Visit Tipitina's and hear great music, and also Preservation Hall. The street musicians in Jackson Square aren't bad either. |
| 5. | The nature - take a swamp tour to learn about the ecology and visit the aquarium. |
| 6. | The food - so many great restaurants (I'll miss Uglesich's) |
| 7. | Who dat say dey beat dem Saints? - Check out a sports match - Saints, Hornets or Tulane's teams. |
| 8. | The danger and eeriness - this is the city of Anne Rice, so take a nighttime ghost tour or if you're brave, take a guided tour of the cemeteries (not safe on your own or at night.) |
| 9. | Because it will help rebuild one of America's great cities. |
